Recreation Services
Recreation Services encourages personal growth and builds relationships through involvement in a variety of social events, classes, and physical activities.
Supported activities include the ARI Artists Initiative Classes, Aqua-Aerobics, Dinner Dances, Vacations, Bocce, Trips to Watch Local Sporting Events including the Bridgeport Islanders, Monthly Dinners, and much more. Members of ARI participate in community recreational groups including Challenged People in Motion Golf, Darien YMCA Funbusters, Special Olympics (including swimming, snow shoeing, bowling, and track & field), and much more. ARI also facilitates vacations including overnight stays at nearby destinations and week-long vacations.

To sign up for any of the following recreation activities, please contact Gerard Gasparino, [email protected]. RSVP required for all activities.
Art Class will restart on Thursday, September 19th from 3:00-4:30pm. The class will be able to create artwork using different styles including paint, colored pencils, markers and much more. All attendees must register with Gerard Gasparino.
Golf will continue in September on the 4th and 11th from 6:00-7:30pm at Sterling Farms. We will have an end of year dinner, date TBD.
Men’s & Women’s Night Out will take place at the American Steakhouse in Stamford on Tuesday, September 17th from 5:30-7:30pm. Enjoy dinner with friends. RSVP by September 12th. Dinner will range in price and should be no more than $30.
***If you are interested in learning how to swim or lesson to get better, please contact Gerard Gasparino. The Darien Y is offering 8 week swim lessons.
***Aqua-Aerobics will begin in October on Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:15pm at the Darien YMCA. Please contact Gerard Gasparino to register.

***The Darien YMCA has a swim program for individuals that would like to either learn how to swim or increase their swimming skills. If you are interested in this program please contact Gerard Gasparino.
