Recreation Services

Recreation Services encourages personal growth and builds relationships through involvement in a variety of social events, classes, and physical activities. 

Supported activities include the ARI Artists Initiative Classes, Aqua-Aerobics, Dinner Dances, Vacations, Bocce, Trips to Watch Local Sporting Events including the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Monthly Dinners, and much more.  Members of ARI participate in community recreational groups including Challenged People in Motion Golf, Darien YMCA Funbusters, Special Olympics (including swimming, snow shoeing, bowling, and track & field), and much more.   ARI also facilitates vacations including overnight stays at nearby destinations and week long vacations.

This month’s Recreation Calendar:

June 2021

ARI Artists’ Initiative Classes will take place on Tuesday, June 8th and 22nd from 4:00-5:30pm via ZOOM.  Draw with friends and show off your artwork.  Must RSVP by Friday, May June 4th and June 18th to receive art supplies.

Join us for Bingo on Tuesday, June 15th from 4:00-5:30pm via ZOOM.  Play your favorite game with friends. Must RSVP by Friday, June 11th to ensure that you receive a bingo card.

Bocce practice will take place on Thursday, June 3rd and 17th at Scalzi Park from 4:00-5:00pm.  Our hope is to compete in the Fall Special Olympics in September.  Must RSVP to Gerard Gasparino to participate.  All those not vaccinated MUST wear a mask. 

Join us for a Memorial Dinner/Ceremony on Monday, June 14th at the Knights of Columbus beginning at 6:30pm.  See below flyer for more information.
