Recreation Services

Recreation Services encourages personal growth and builds relationships through involvement in a variety of social events, classes, and physical activities. 

Supported activities include the ARI Artists Initiative Classes, Aqua-Aerobics, Dinner Dances, Vacations, Bocce, Trips to Watch Local Sporting Events including the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Monthly Dinners, and much more.  Members of ARI participate in community recreational groups including Challenged People in Motion Golf, Darien YMCA Funbusters, Special Olympics (including swimming, snow shoeing, bowling, and track & field), and much more.   ARI also facilitates vacations including overnight stays at nearby destinations and week long vacations.

To sign up for any of the following recreation activities, please contact Gerard Gasparino, [email protected]. RSVP required for all activities. For In-Person Events, Masks are required (except when in pool).

Bocce Practice will take place on August 2, 16, 23, and 30 at Scalzi Park from 4:00-5:00pm.  We plan to compete in the Fall Special Olympics in September.  Must sign up by contacting Gerard Gasparino.

Men’s & Women’s Night Out will take place on Tuesday, August 9 at Zody’s 19th Hole at E.G. Brennan Golf Course beginning at 5:30pm  The cost will be $30 per person and will include a full dinner.  Must RSVP by August 2.  For more information, contact Gerard Gasparino.

Golf Practice will take place on Thursday, August 11 and 25 from 6:00-7:00pm at Sterling Farms Golf Course.  We will hit golf balls at the driving range.  Limited to the first 6 people to RSVP.  Contact Gerard Gasparino to sign up.
