Thank you for supporting the 16th Annual Walk for Independence on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Cove Island Park.  This was the first in-person walk in three years and we thank all for their support!

We honored the memory of Gail Malloy.  Gail was a staple in the Stamford community.  She served on the board of directors during the 2000s and 2010s.  Gail was a fixture at our Walk for many years and advocated strongly for ARI and services for people with developmental disabilities.  We are grateful for both of their support over the years and miss Gail dearly. We also honored Bob Bryson.  Bob Bryson (and his late wife Betty) has been involved with ARI for nearly 70 years!  Bob’s son Matthew attended the ARI nursery school and received ARI services.  Bob served on the board of directors during the 1960s and 1970s, was a recreation volunteer, coached the Special Olympics and chaperoned many vacations for those at ARI.

We thank the Stamford Police for leading the walk, Mayor Simmons and State Rep Matthew Blumenthal for attending, The HaHa Clowns for entertaining, John Martin & Laura Beddini for the tattoos, Stew Leonard’s & Acme for the refreshments, Pepsi for the water, Subway for the Sandwiches, Liz Sue Bagels for the bagels, all of the wonderful volunteers, our sponsors and all of our supporters of this year’s event.  Your support allows us to continue providing the highest quality of services to people with developmental disabilities. Without your support events like this one will not happen.  Check back for more photos!
